WELCOME TO GUITAR UNIVERSE RADIO
This radio station is dedicated to all things guitar. Tonepot, your host and
DJ, will treat you to some of the best guitar oriented music he can find and
will play it 24 hours, 7 days per week. You can always come here to enjoy great
music featuring, of course, guitars.
At certain, unscheduled times Tonepot will even play selections for you live
and on the air via streaming video and will chat with you. Tune in frequently to
see if he is on the air live.
Tonepot, who is a guitar player of some 35+ years, will scour his sources
endlessly to bring you music by some of the best guitar players on the planet.
He appreciates guitar music in all forms and will bring you the standards, and
hopefully introduce you to something you've never heard before from the scores of
unbelievably talented, more obscure artists.
More about your host, Tonepot:
Excerpt from his blog, The
Stagemaster Project . . .
"It's kind of a long story but I'll try to boil it down. First off let me
say that I just turned 52 years old and I have been playing guitar since I was
15. By the time I was 17 I could play the entire Santana Abraxas album verbatim.
Ever listen to Alice Cooper's "Killer" album? I could also that entire album
note-for-note by the time I was 16 or 17. These are only a couple that I
remember, but suffice it to say I've been involved with guitars for most of my
life. My first serious guitar was a '73 Strat with a maple neck.
About the only kind of band that I haven't played in would be a jazz group. I've
pretty much played everything else; country, disco, top 40, all genres of rock
almost, funk, etc."
Currently, Tonepot a.k.a. Tom Goodson, is playing in his own band, "The Tonepots" who play in and around Tampa, Florida. The band consists of Tonepot himself (guitar, bass, vocals), Chuck Fernandez (guitar, bass, lead vocals), and his brother Sandy Fernandez (drums).
The Tonepots play a variety of music to suit as many audience tastes as possible. Don't be surprised to hear a ZZ Top cover followed immediately by a classic Hank Williams tune.
